Atopy Patch Test
Atopy Patch Test
Atopy Patch Test is an effective test method used to diagnose atopic dermatitis and other allergic skin diseases. This test is conducted by our expert dermatologists in our clinic to identify allergic reactions on the skin and determine which substances patients are sensitive to.
How is the Test Applied?
The Atopy Patch Test is performed by placing allergen patches on specific areas of the skin. The treatment process includes the following steps:
-
Preparation: Before the test, the patient's medical history is reviewed, and the current skin condition is assessed. The area where the test will be applied is cleaned.
-
Treatment of Allergens: Selected allergen patches are placed on specific areas of the skin. At this stage, the patient is exposed to potential allergens.
-
Waiting Period: The patches remain on the skin for about 48 hours. During this time, it is expected that the allergens will interact with the skin.
-
Evaluation: After 48 hours, the patches are removed, and skin reactions are observed. Additionally, if necessary, a follow-up evaluation is conducted 72 hours later.
