Wood Examination
Wood Examination
Wood Examination is a simple yet effective test used in the diagnosis of dermatological diseases. In our clinic, it is performed by our expert dermatologists to determine the causes of skin problems and apply the correct treatment methods.
What is Wood Examination?
Wood Examination involves the use of a special UV light (Wood lamp) to evaluate lesions and infections on the skin. This test is particularly useful in detecting certain pigment changes and infections in the skin.
How is the Test Applied?
Wood Examination is carried out with the following steps:
-
Preparation: Before the examination, makeup and other cosmetic products on the skin are removed. The area to be tested should be clean and dry.
-
Light Treatment: The specialist dermatologist uses the Wood lamp to examine specific areas of the skin. The UV light helps to better visualize pigmentation changes and infections on the skin.
-
Evaluation: Following the examination under the Wood lamp, lesions and changes in the skin are observed. Based on the test findings, the dermatologist makes the necessary diagnosis.
