Care Tips for Red and Sensitive Skin

While skin sensitivity is often associated with dry skin, we can also observe sensitivity in our clients with combination or oily skin types. Redness and sensitivity are particularly important when selecting skincare products. Products that are suitable for someone else's skin type may cause allergic reactions in sensitive skin.

When choosing products, it would be beneficial to look for indications that state they are suitable for red, sensitive skin.
Active ingredients such as tranexamic acid serum and niacinamide can be used to soothe the skin. Additionally, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C can be added to the daily routine. It is advisable to consult your dermatologist before starting irritant serums like retinoic acid.

In the clinic, we prefer Babyglow skincare for sensitive and red skin. We support this with mesotherapy. We do not recommend steam skincare for red and telangiectatic (vascular) skin types, as it can cause dilation and an increase in blood vessels. Babyglow is a laser skin treatment. It uses dyevl technology, which is a short-pulse light technology. Its goal is to soothe the skin and reduce vascularity. For advanced vascular complaints, we prefer the dyevl laser with a long pulse head, or BBL technology. Our objectives in this treatment are to reduce vascularity and even out the skin tone.

Sun protection is our top skincare recommendation. Especially for sensitive skin types, sun exposure can worsen the condition. Therefore, it is essential to consistently use appropriate 50 SPF sunscreen creams for sensitive skin, both in summer and winter.
