What is cosmetic acne?
Acne is a skin condition that can develop as a result of clogged pores due to sebum or other factors. It is also known as pimples. The most important factor in the formation stages of acne is blockage. Initially, black or whiteheads appear. Subsequently, redness and inflammation arise with bacterial colonization.
I always recommend suitable daily skincare products to my clients with oily and combination skin types who are prone to acne.
To cleanse the skin of sebum, dust, and makeup, face washes and water-based moisturizers are essential. I also recommend water-based sunscreen products.
When reviewing the products a person uses, I frequently encounter the issue of incorrect cosmetic product selection. In this context, I see clients who use comedogenic foundations, moisturizers, sunscreens, or oil-based serums, which have increased their acne.
When selecting products, we should look for those labeled as non-comedogenic. We should be careful to choose medical-grade products in skincare. For example, when selecting vitamin C, we should ensure it is water-based, and the face wash should not excessively dry out our skin. Instead of foundation, you might consider using tinted sunscreens.
In summary, we often encounter cases of acne developed due to cosmetic use in clinics. People may overlook this by attributing it to hormonal imbalances or stress. However, my advice is this: if you notice an increase in your acne, take a look back at the last two months. If you have purchased any new cosmetic products, they may be the cause. For detailed information, I certainly recommend consulting your dermatologist.
